Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday offered an olive branch to his Telangana counterpart K Chandrashekar Rao and asked him to work together for the development of Telugu States. Without taking the name of his Telangana counterpart, he said that political differences of TDP and TRS should not come in the way of striving collectively for the all-round development of the two States.

“The governments of two Telugu States should work together for their comprehensive development. The political differences can exist between the two political parties. But they should not become a hindrance in the equal development of the two States,” Naidu said while delivering his inaugural address on the first day of party’s conclave Mahanadu at Gandipet on the outskirts of the city in the city.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Naidu claimed that he was striving for the development of the both States by raising issues pertaining even to Telangana during his visit the national capital. “Telangana State is an integral part of the TDP and the party has born with the sole goal of development of Telugu people. Whenever I go to Delhi, I make it a point to raise the issues and problems faced by people in the Telangana State as well as AP.

Naidu also used the occasion to challenge his political rivals and detractors on the development of Hyderabad city and Telangana State. Reeling out the development activities undertaken by him during his stint as the CM of AP in the first term, he dared his rivals to come up for an open debate on the issue to set the record straight and bring the truth to the front. “My rivals are saying that I had no role in the development of Telangana region during my earlier stint. When I became the CM in the year 1995, the State had a deficit.

The initiatives and development activities taken up by me turned it into a budget surplus State. It is history and nobody can deny it,” he thundered. Commenting on the proposal of expanding the party at national level, he said that a detailed discussion on the issue would be held during the three day conclave of the Party and added that the party would be expanded to all the States where it felt the need of its presence.

Speaking further, the TDP president said that the party would hold Telangana formation day celebrations in the State on June 2 and Re-dedication day in the neighboring AP. He said that the party would continue to fight on public problems of the people of Telangana as the opposition party while assuring the party workers that he would not take rest till he ensured the party captured power in the newly born State.

"The party will raise all problems being faced by the people of the State at various forums. Our aim is to capture power and I am sure we will achieve it at any cost," he said amidst the thunderous applause of the party workers from Telangana. Naidu said that he would turn the State into a number one State in the entire world by the year 2050.

He said that while the Congress Party would never come into power in the State and the YCP would pay its for carrying the corruption tag. Earlier, Naidu paid rich tributes to party workers who had lost their lives and said that the party had taken many steps for the welfare of the party workers and leaders like setting up of NTR Model School. The party leaders from Telangana and AP introduced resolutions paying tributes to the party leaders who sacrificed their lives in the service of the party.
