SC/ST colleges shine with 84.37% passouts

Minister for ST Development, Tourism and Culture Azmeera Chandulal lauded lecturers of SC and ST residential junior Colleges run by the Tribal Welfare Department for achieving 84.37 pass percentage in the Intermediate second year examination, results of which were released here on Monday.

He described the results as impressive compared to last year’s pass percentage of 83.84 and maintained that steps would be initiated to achieve 100% results in the next academic year.

He directed officials to conduct special classes for those who failed so that they can write soon-to-be-held advanced supplementary examination well. Also, the minister said that best coaching would be imparted to science group students to enable them to get good ranks in EAMCET.

In all, 2,630 SC and ST students appeared for Intermediate final year examination from Telangana. Of them, 812 cleared the examination in grade A, 990 in grade B, 362 in grade C and 55 in grade D. A student of Rajendranagar residential college, Malothu Sridhar of MPC group secured 980 marks, while V Praveen Kumar of the Warangal residential college got 975 in the BPC group.

In Humanities, a student of Sudimalla residential college in Khammam district Navya secured 877 marks. In the CEC group, Kalyani of the Ankampalem residential college in Khammam district scored 865 marks. In Intermediate vocational course, of the 487 appeared for the examination 459 have been declared successful securing a pass result of 94%.
