Poverty alleviation is our priority: Dy CM

The State government is working towards poverty alleviation through different welfare and development schemes and programmes, Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari has said. Addressing the gathering after unfurling the national flag at a function here on the occasion of 70th Independence Day celebrations, the Deputy Chief Minister said that all the welfare schemes, including Kalyana Lakshmi, Asara pensions and other schemes, were being implemented in the State with statistical details.

Elaborating on the Mission Bhagiratha and Mission Kakatiya programmes, the Deputy Chief Minister said that Mission Bhagiratha, a brainchild of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao, was attracting the attention of many other States. The first results of the scheme reached the people on August 7 when Prime Minister Narendra Modi lunched the launched first phase of the scheme at Gajwel in Medak district, he said.
