Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao on Sunday said that the Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhara Rao has initiated districts reorganization to bring district headquarters closer to the people for administrative convenience and strongly condemned opposition criticism over the move.

The Minister who was here to lay foundation stone for road construction works in Mahabubabad, alleged that the Opposition is trying to scuttle irrigation projects on one hand and instigating the people on the issue of districts reorganisation on the other. However, the Minister assured that the government is determined to go ahead and complete irrigation projects and districts reorganization as proposed, despite Opposition’s hue and cry.

The Minister who laid foundation stone for Rs. 9-crore worth road works and Rs. 5-crore worth central lighting works in Mahabubabad said that since the TRS government came to power the Central government has sanctioned 2600 kms of National High way projects in the State. He said that Hyderabad – Bhadrachalam national highway works will be commenced soon and promised to sanction ring road for Mahabubabad. Local MP Sitaram Naik, MLA Shankar Naik and TRS leaders attended the program.
