New districts to check crime rate: Etela

Finance and Civil Supplies Minister Etela Rajendar said that the reorganisation of districts was aimed at bringing down the crime rate in the State besides bringing administration closer to the people. The Minister, along with Karimnagar MP B Vinod, Zilla Parishad chairperson Tula Uma, MLC Naradasu Laxmana Rao, MLA Gangula Kamalakar and others, inspected the new police commissionerate on Monday. Later, addressing a press conference, Etela said that plans are being made to modernise the police establishment in the State.

Besides Karimnagar, Godavarikhani would also be upgraded into police commissionerate, he said. The Minister said that the news districts would be inaugurated by the assigned Ministers on Tuesday on the occasion of Dasara between 11.11 am and 11.20 am. Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Ali, IT Minister K Taraka Rama Rao and himself would inaugurate Jagtial, Sircilla and Peddapalli districts and new Collectors would take charge immediately after the inauguration. District SP Joel Davis, ASP Annapurna, DSPs Koteshwar and Rama Rao, CIs Vijayasarathi and Mahesh, RI Gangadhar and others accompanied the Minister.
