24 Metro Express buses flagged off in Warangal

With a view to provide better public transportation system, the government is introducing 24 metro express buses in Warangal city, Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari said on Wednesday. After flagging off the 24 metro express buses along with Minister for Transport Mahender Reddy in Warangal, Kadiyam Srihari requested Mahender Reddy to sanction some more metro express buses to Warangal as the city was growing as a mega heritage city.

Stating that when the RTC workers asked for 43 per cent fitment, the government has sanctioned 44 per cent, Srihari said the government has no intention to privatize RTC though it was running in losses. Instead, the government was making efforts to improve public transportation in the State.

Minister Mahender Reddy said 1400 metro buses have been sanctioned in the State at a cost of Rs 350 crore as part of it, 24 buses have been introduced in Warangal. MLA Vinay Bhaskar, Mayor NannapaneniNarender, ZP chairman Padma, Warangal MP PasunuriDayakar and others were present on the occasion.
