An exhibition-cum-sale of fine cotton sarees is being held at central cottage industries emporium in Tourism Plaza at Begumpet. The exhibition was inaugurated on Thursday by ShailajaSuman, deputy director general (P) Doordarshan (Hyderabad), while GMC Balayogi ParyatakaBhavan special officer KishanRao (IAS, Retd) also graced the event.

Speaking on the occasion, Shailaja said that she always prefers Indian handloom and that this exhibition supports the spirit of ‘Make in India’. "Whenever I go abroad, I like to take something unique, ‘Indian’ with me. The Indian handloom is my first preference since it represents our culture and tradition like nothing else. They have done an excellent job at putting together a wide collection of handpicked fine sarees from across the country. I am buying three sarees from here,” she said. The sarees will be available for sale till May 16, 8 pm.
