Bharateeyudu sequel on cards
Director Shankar and Kamal Haasan’s vigilante film Bharateeyudu was one of the biggest hits of South Indian cinema. The film released in 1996 had attained a cult status and is still reckoned as one of the best films that aimed to root out corruption.
Producer of the film AM Ratnam informs us that the film will have a sequel soon. He is currently in talks with Shankar and Kamal. However, Ratnam asserted that the project would take some time to hit the floors as Shankar and Kamal are preoccupied with a slew of other films.
“I recently met Shankar and discussed the possibilities of a sequel to Bharateeyudu. Since he is busy with Robo 2, the project might get delayed and it can only be revived by early 2016,” said AM Ratnam. That’s not all, Ratnam also confirmed that he is vying for the theatrical rights of the Telugu version of Shankar and Rajinikanth’s highly anticipated Robo 2.
