Most of the films of Universal hero Kamal Haasan invite controversy when ready for release. The case with his latest movie "Uttama Villain” is no different.

The fresh trouble for the Universal hero has come in the form of Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s call for a ban on the film, claiming that it will hurt the religious sentiments of Hindu community. VHP alleged that the lyrics in a particular song are derogatory and wrote to the Commissioner of Police to take appropriate action against the filmmaker.

On the other hand, the film was cleared by the Censor Board with a "U” certificate on Tuesday morning. Directed by Ramesh Arvind, "Uttama Villain” has legendary director K Balachander in a vital role. Pooja Kumar and Andrea Jeremaiah will be seen as the female leads.
