BHEL signs MoU with TSGENCO to set up 1,080 MW thermal plant

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has received an EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) project from Telangana State Power Generation Corporation Limited (TSGENCO).

BHEL has signed a contract to set up a 1,080 MW (4x270 MW) thermal power plant at Manuguru in Khammam district of Telangana, which is valued at Rs 50,000 million and targeted to be commissioned in 24 months.

BHEL also received another order from TSGENCO to construct new thermal power plants totaling 6,000 MW in the state.

Prior to these contracts, BHEL had received an order from TSGENCO to set up Telangana’s first Supercritical thermal power plant of 800 MW rating on EPC basis, at Kothagudem in December 2014.

With the order for Manuguru project, 1880 MW has already been awarded toBHEL.

All these power plants are expected to commence generation within the next three years to meet the state's increasing demand for power.
