IOC opens 1st smart terminal

Indian Oil Corp (IOC) has inaugurated oil industry’s first smart terminal at Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh on Friday. “Chittoor smart terminal embodies the transformative power of information technology and its versatile amalgamating power for our logistics and storage functions. Smart terminals aid in providing homogenous delivery of products, with complete automated processes,” said B Ashok, chairman, IOC.

The terminal project started in 2010 with an estimated cost of 126.60 crore. The facility covers a total area of 44.65 acre. It has a total of 24 Bays in 3 TLF Gantries equipped with 33 bottom loading points for furl loading and an additional 3 top loading points for SKO.
