The stock markets opened on a low note on Wednesday. The Sensex dipped by 108 points in the early trade, with IT, FMCG, metal, oil & gas and auto companies stocks succumbing to profit-booking by investors. The profit bookings by speculators are in the wake of tomorrow’s monthly expiry in derivatives segment amid a weak trend at other Asian bourses.

The Sensex fell by 108.97 points, or 0.39 per cent, to 27,287.41, while the Nifty went down by 33.40 to 8,252.20 in the early trade.

The Sensex is presently down by 146.50 points at 27,249.88, while the Nifty is down by 43.45 points at 8,242.15.
