Big Basket sprouts lucrative ideas to motivate employees

With the aim to enhance productivity and retain its employees, India’s largest online food and grocery store is coming up with innovative ideas and lucrative schemes for its blue-collar employees (Delivery boys and warehouse employees), analysts and engineers.
In order to give a stiff competition to Grofers and PepperTap, Big Basket is initiating the following ideas:
·Free housing: Dormitory style accommodation and shared apartments to its 1,500 blue-collar workers in next 2 months.
·Lodgings located near warehouses, pickup locations
·Attractive pay scales and stock options to its analysts and engineers.
Hari Menon, chief executive of BigBasket said, "From our warehouse to our last mile delivery boys, BigBasket is a very operationally intensive business and we need to be sure that employees at all levels are motivated.”
BigBasket expects to add 4,500 working in the next one year.
