Markets dip on foreign investors' concerns

The markets ended in the red on Thursday, due to foreign investors’ worries regarding tax claims.

The Sensex went down by 155.11 points to end at 27,735.02. It opened at 27,977.27 and touched a high of 28,087.78 and low of 27,621.18, during the intra-day trade.

The Nifty also dipped by 31.40 points to end at 8.398.30. It opened at 8,478.20 and witnessed a high of 8,504.95 points and a low of 8,361.85, during the intra-day trade.

Meanwhile, the US dollar ended significantly higher against the rupee, which stood at 63.32/33 per dollar. 

In the bullion market, Gold prices plummeted by Rs 200 to trade at Rs 27,000 per 10 grams, due to reducing demand from jewellers. Silver also went down by Rs 350 to end at Rs 36,250 per kg.
