Tamil Nadu government has cancelled the allotment of 71.34 acres of land to Coca-Cola’s proposed beverages facility in State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu (SIPCOT) industrial growth centre at Perundurai.

Government has cancelled the allotment following stiff opposition from agriculturists, locals and political parties, as they feared it would deplete the ground water resources in the district.

Tamil Nadu government has quoted ‘Non-compliance of terms and conditions’ by the company as the reason for the cancellation of allotment.
