Videocon aims to tap TS, AP markets

Videocon Mobile Phones aims to tap the smartphones market of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh with its distribution network and additional manufacturing facilities. The company has strategic plans to expand its assembly lines and production facilities in India and enhance its product portfolio for the billions of untapped smartphone users in the country, said Jerold Pereira, CEO of Videocon Mobile Phones, who is here to attend the State Level Dealers Meet on Sunday.

He said, "Videocon has traditionally been a manufacturing-led Group. We have presence in Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka and now we are planning to go deeper in Telangana and AP markets. We are keen to explore the newer growth opportunities in the region and attain a large consumer base by manufacturing the products indigenously.”
"With an understanding of new emerging trends, price factors and consumer needs for smartphones, we are coming up with a new range of innovative and affordable products.

Our portfolio of smart devices brings value proposition to consumers through a range of products. Going forward, we aim to fulfill the varied needs of new-age smartphone users indigenously.” he further added.
The company has also launched new handsets including smartphones Z40 Lite+ priced at `2,800, Z45 Nova+ at `4,900, Z51 Nova at `5,400, and the VA81M 3G-calling tablet available at a price of `4,900. The entire new smartphones are being designed in-house and are being assembled at the company’s local manufacturing facilities.
