TiE Hyderabad launches new special interest group

The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) – Hyderabad chapter, launched a ‘Special Interest Group for Media and Entertainment’ in Hyderabad. For the launch, a session was also organised recently to enlighten the budding entrepreneurs who have an inclination towards the media and entertainment industry about various opportunities this industry has to offer in Animation, Gaming & VFX sectors. This Special Interest Group (SIG) has been initiated based on interest and demand TiE garnered during the highly TiE-ISB connect held recently.

The event, presided over by eminent industry experts, was moderated by Rajiv Chilaka, CEO, Green Gold Animation (The creator of Chota Bheem). The panel too had distinguished entrepreneurs such as Tapaas Chakravarti, chairman, DQ Entertainment, Rajat Ojha, CEO Tags, The Awesome Gaming Studio and Sanath, founder director, Firefly Creative Studio discussing on the theme ‘Opportunities for Innovation & Entrepreneurship’. Over 70 startups, investors and entrepreneurs attended this event.

The industry experts shared various insights on the prospective areas of growth in the Animation and Gaming sector. The speakers also briefed the delegates on how the Gaming Industry, estimated to grow at over 25 per cent per year will prosper in the near future. The global animation industry too is growing exponentially every year and creating new avenues of opportunities.

We feel that the media and entertainment industry offers incredible potential but not yet fully explored or tapped into. We are confident that such initiatives will help our local entrepreneurs in becoming the next Steve Jobs, George Lucas or Donald Trump.”
