In a significant move focusing on improving the ease of doing business, the government has launched an integrated electronic application form to facilitate the procedure for setting up companies.

The Corporate Affairs Ministry, which is implementing the Companies Act, has come out with the new form INC 29.

The new e-form will be available from May 2, 2015. Instead of separately filling up at least five e-forms, a single e-form can be used by entities seeking to incorporate a company in India.

The formalities of registering a firm and applying for company’s name and Director Identification Number (DIN) can be completed through this form.

The government is looking ahead to bring India's position to top-50 in terms of ease of doing business globally. According to the latest World Bank report, India is at the 142nd position.
